I have so much respect for last year’s class. The fact that it was the first time the run had ever
been put on and they did such a great job made it easier on us, and I'm so thankful for their help
throughout the year. The more I think, the happier I get and I really really hope that next year’s class carries it on. It was by far the most stressful thing that I’ve ever done, but also my greatest
accomplishment and the best payoff I have ever felt in my life. So thankful for everyone that
helped make that a reality.

Mrs. Schmidt came in and talked to us about selling
Thirty-One. My mom used to sell Wildtree so I was aware of the market and idea of what it was
like, but I never realized how successful one could be while doing it. I really liked how she
wanted her kids to build their own dream, and not have everything handed to them.

All the CEO alumnis say that CEO changes you, and I will admit that I was skeptical of this. But, I have noticed that my thought process has totally changed. I now think of a lot of things from a business point of view or relate a thought to a topic we have discussed in CEO. I no longer am interested in meaningless conversation. I want to know the purpose and meaning of things. There is so much more in Effingham County that I never would have known about, without CEO. I will forever be grateful for this opportunity.

On Thursday we had a visit from Clay Johnson, the city administrator. One thing he
talked about that was quite interesting, was the Enterprize Zone. I had never heard of that,
but it is actually a specific area in the town that businesses and buildings can receive certain
benefits through. It’s interesting and important information to know because if I was to purchase
a building I would want to be able to save as much money as possible for as long as possible.
